SOCKET has created a large number of sample web services on which to test the consumer code factory. 38 simple RPC-style services have been created corresponding to the basic XML data types supported by JAX-RPC along with wrappers and arrays of the same.

The samples.war file can be obtained from the downloads page on this site.

We have an installation of a socketized Bodington that is used both as a demonstrator and as a test bed for new socketized services.

The hard drive on which the sample services below were running has blown up. The links to these services in Bodington will regrettably be down until further notice.

This can be found at http://socket.leeds.ac.uk/bodington/site.

We are currently in the middle of changing the shop window in the demonstration Bods to coincide with our latest release, which can now handle complex data types. We estimate that this has increased by about a factor of 10 the WSDLs that we can handle. Consequently, we have a list of around 30 bioinformatics Web services connecting to public services that we hope to have socketized with our new factory in the next 2 weeks and available for use in the demonstrator.

The demonstration Bodington has username/password = guest/guest1.

The SOCKET services currently on show are a simple, home-made chemistry service, an applet client for a Jabber chat server, and a client for the ASSIS SSRun service. This last one is not live due to the fact that our 30-day license from Icodeon has expired.

You can log into the Jabber client using guest01/socket01. There is one active room at socket@conference.webforwireless.co.uk
